Subject:  Foreign Travel (Contract DAHCl5-73-C-0435)

Dear Mr. Ducey:

We request approval to cover the following foreign travel expenses for members of
our staff, for which adequate funds are available under the subject contract.

1.  For Dr. David Luckham, round trip charter air fare to England, and other travel
expenses to present a paper at the conference on Artificial Intelligence and Simulation
of Behavior on July 7-10, 1974 at Brighton, at a cost of about $800.

2.  For Professor Jerome Feldman, one-way air fare and conference expenses to
attend the IFIP Congress in Stockholm, Sweden, August 5-10, 1974.  Feldman has
been invited as Chairman of a panel of the Congress, which is the major international
computer conference and meets every three years.  The proposed fare is one-way on the grounds that
this will mark the end of Feldman's association with our laboratory.  The cost will be about $700.

3.  For Dr. Arthur Samuel and Karl Pingle, conference fees and living expenses to
attend the IFIP Congress in Stockholm.  They will pay their own travel expenses,
so the cost will be about $200 each.
